Art and Photography

Welcome to the G.R. SYKES Art and Photography main gallery! This collection is years in the making. The photographs were captured with digital cameras or film (black & white, color negative, or transparencies). All photographs depict the subject as it was naturally seen; only basic darkroom techniques (color correction, contrast and brightness adjustment, dust & ghost removal, some high dynamic range to digitally “dodge and burn,” etc.) were applied unless otherwise noted. The media used on each piece of freehand art is listed with the image.

Photographs and artwork are broadly categorized within the galleries. You may wish to view multiple galleries for related images since some subjects span several galleries, for example, “lighthouse” could be filed under either “Seascapes” or “Architecture.” To search all galleries for a specific subject (e.g., species name or locality), click on the Complete Galleries and use the “search” box in the upper right corner. If there is a particular subject you would like but do not see it here, send an e-mail to us detailing your request and we will search our libraries for a match.
